The U/G Ampacity calculator is based on the 2012 edition of the Canadian Electrical Code and is used to calculate the maximum ampacity of underground cables. Cable ampacities differ from when cables are directly buried to when cables are encased in conduit. This calculator enables you to determine the U/G cable ampacity based on conductor temperature, ambient earth temperature, conductor material, load type, installation method, cable configuration, wire size, equipment rating and equipment type and the number of conductors in parallel.
